Victor Wanyama joined Tottenham Hotspur from Southampton in the summer of 2016.

Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama has revealed to the club’s official website what surprised him when he joined the North London outfit in the summer of 2016.
Wanyama switched to Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £11 million.
The Kenya international arrived at White Hart Lane with a strong reputation, having established himself as one of the best in his position in the Premier League.
Tottenham finished third in the Premier League last season, behind champions Leicester City and North London rivals Arsenal.
Wanyama has revealed what surprised him when he moved to Spurs.
“When I arrived here I thought all the talk would be ‘last season we finished third’ and I thought the players would be talking about last season a lot but all I was hearing was ‘how can we improve and go to the next level?’ and I love that,” the 25-year-old told Tottenham’s official website.
Tottenham are a progressive club, and Wanyama’s revelation shows just how forward-looking the players are.
Spurs are going strong in the Premier League at the moment and could end up as high as second in the standings.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have progressed over the past three or so years, and in the coming years, they could become regulars in the Champions League.
