Victor Wanyama joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has admitted to Capital Sport that his side have struggled for goals in the absence of Harry Kane.

Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and a key player in the current Tottenham squad.

The England international recently returned to full fitness following a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals and created eight chances in six Premier League matches for Spurs so far this season.

In the absence of Kane, Tottenham struggled to score goals, both in the Premier League and in the Champions League.

Now that the Englishman is back to full fitness, Wanyama believes that Spurs will become a better team.

“We have a lot of games and hopefully we can continue performing like how we are right now,” the 25-year-old defensive midfielder told Capital Sport.

“The only shortfall has been the goals but hopefully we can improve and do better than last season.

“He (Kane) is one of the important players we have in the team and we are happy to have him back. Hopefully he will come in and do the business.”

Wanyama joined Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window.

According to The Guardian, the Saints had to pay Spurs a transfer fee of £11 million in order to secure the services of the Kenya international.
