Victor Wanyama has told Harry Winks on his Instagram to ‘get well soon pal’ after the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s loan spell at Sampdoria took a turn for the worst.

The 26-year-old left Spurs this summer in order to get his career back on track, but he is yet to play a single minute for the Italian club.

Rather than being on the training pitch, he has been on the surgery table and that is now set to keep him out of action for the foreseeable, as he posted on Instagram.

There just doesn’t seem to be any luck for the Spurs academy product, who has struggled to break into Tottenham’s first team ever since Mauricio Pochettino was sacked in 2019.

Nonetheless, when Winks confirmed on IG about his surgery and time on the sidelines, he was issued with a number of get well messages in the comments section.

Brighton defender Adam Webster told him ‘back stronger’, whilst ex-Spurs man Wanyama added ‘get well soon, pal’.

TOTTENHAM’S MIDFIELD

Whatever happens with Winks, he won’t be getting into Tottenham’s midfield anytime soon.

Rodrigo Bentancur, who arrived in January, has shown what Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli should have been producing before they were booted out.

If Spurs are to add to their midfield, then it’s bringing in a creative mind because it’s much-needed in this Antonio Conte system.
