Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic are both playing in the Champions League this season.
Victor Wanyama has admitted to the Hertfordshire Mercury that playing European football for Tottenham Hotspur is different to representing Celtic.
Tottenham have to play their Champions League matches at Wembley this season, as building work is underway at White Hart Lane.
Wanyama’s only previous experience of playing in Europe’s top club competition came while representing Celtic.
The atmosphere created at Parkhead when Celtic play on a European night is renowned as one of the best in the world.
And Wanyama admits that there is a difference between playing at Wembley, although the Kenyan still praised Tottenham’s supporters for the noise they create.
“We know we have great support from our fans. Hopefully tomorrow they will be lighting the stadium up so it can help us get a result,” Wanyama said.
“It’s different [to Celtic Park], but still we can hear our fans and the most important thing is to deliver on the pitch.”
Tottenham’s first Champions League match at Wembley ended in disappointment, as they crashed to defeat against Monaco.
Spurs have since improved in Europe, though, and they are now in a good position to qualify from their group.
Tottenham’s next Champions League match comes on Wednesday evening, when they take on Bayer Leverkusen.
