Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama joined Southampton from Celtic in the summer of 2013.

Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama has admitted on the club’s official website that he initially struggled in the Premier League.
Wanyama joined Premier League outfit Southampton from Scottish giants Celtic in the summer of 2013.
The Kenya international arrived at St. Mary’s Stadium with a strong reputation, and after three years at the Saints, he joined Tottenham in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £11 million.
The 25-year-old midfielder has admitted that it took his six months to adapt to the Premier League.
“Southampton are a great club and it was a big step because the Premier League was a test for me with the pace and the physicality,” Wanyama told Tottenham’s official website.
“I needed to adjust and it took me six months. After that, I was able to click and perform.”
Wanyama is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and has been superb for Tottenham so far this season.
The Kenyan has established himself as a key player for Spurs, and he is only going to get better in the coming years.
The midfielder’s story is also a reminder that players coming from otherwise the Premier League should be given time to adapt and adjust to the English top flight.
