Victor Orta has every right to feel vindicated in his decision to sell Bailey Peacock-Farrell to Burnley for £2.5 million after he endured one of the worst Premier League debuts in recent memory.
The Northern Irishman was Leeds’ number one goalkeeper when Marcelo Bielsa arrived at the club, but by January, Kiko Casilla had arrived and Peacock-Farrell dropped down the pecking order.
However, Casilla’s form took a turn for the worst, but rather than giving Peacock-Farrell another go, Leeds got Illan Meslier in, with the 24-year-old being sold to Burnley.
Leeds got £2.5 million for the stopper, and it seems as though the Whites got the better end of the deal on this occasion as Peacock-Farrell faltered on his Premier League debut.
He faced something of a baptism of fire, coming up against a red-hot Manchester City side who knocked five goals past him, but overall his performance was still rather turgid.
His blushes were spared by VAR in the second half as an embarrassing own goal was fortunately chalked off due to an offside in the build-up.

Throughout the game, Peacock-Farrell unfortunately looked out of his depth, being out of position often and unable to get near to any of the shots that beat him at the Etihad.
Leeds can count themselves a little lucky that they parted ways with the goalkeeper when they did.
