Leeds United re-signed the young winger on loan this morning.
Leeds United’s Director of Football Victor Orta has told LUTV that he saw the ‘real Jack Harrison’ toward the end of last season and hopes that the young winger can pick up where he left off.
Leeds re-signed the 22-year-old attacker on a season-long loan from Manchester City today, and this time United will have the option to sign him outright at the end of this agreement.
Harrison had a mixed first year at Elland Road overall, but was a major player for Marcelo Bielsa toward the end of the 2018-19 campaign, with the Whites missing out on Premier League promotion.
He returns to West Yorkshire already being very familiar with Bielsa’s style and having had a year in the second tier, the Spanish director says that Harrison may be set up for a brilliant year.
He told LUTV: “The end of last season, he showed the real Jack Harrison for me. He’s a player who’s constantly growing and he understands our style too.
“In my opinion his quality can make the difference in the Championship. He has all the skills to be an important player in the Championship.”
Harrison is earning around £51,000 per week at City [Spotrac] and it’s important that he has a breakout season this time around.
Yes, he had a rip-roaring end to last year, and bagged a truly brilliant assist for Kemar Roofe in the first-leg playoff win at Derby County, but he wasn’t consistent and if he can right those wrongs this year then Orta’s right, he will be a very important player.
