Leeds United have brought in nine new signings so far this summer.

Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has confirmed during an interview with the FairPlay Agency that Ezgjan Alioski was his side’s top target this summer.

Leeds brought in Alioski from Lugano earlier this summer, and there is great excitement about seeing the winger at Elland Road.

Alioski lit up Swiss football last season, and has also been capped at international level for Macedonia.

And Orta admits that the 25-year-old was at the very top of Leeds’ list of transfer targets this summer.

“When I start with my strategy in the market, we put up a list of main and secondary targets,” Orta said. “He was always top of the list.

“Alioski to me is a technically superb player. He is clever with his first touch and one-v-ones.”

Alioski is one of nine new arrivals that Leeds have made this summer, with Thomas Christiansen ringing the changes.

Leeds fell just short of the play offs last term, and are working hard to add the small amount of quality required to allow them to go one step further this time around.

Leeds are still on the look out for more new players too, with the Yorkshire Evening Post suggesting that Matthew Pennington will join from Everton in the near future.

Leeds are currently on tour in Austria, and Alioski is expected to feature in their next friendly, which comes against Borussia Monchengladbach.
