The Leeds United right-back has agreed a new deal at Elland Road.

Leeds United’s director of football Victor Orta has been speaking to LUTV after it was announced that Luke Ayling had signed a new contract at the club.
The right-back was one of Leeds’ best players last season, and while his form has dipped slightly this year he is still one of the first names on the Whites’ team sheet.

“I am really happy, again another important player has increased his commitment with Leeds United and for me it is one of the best (pieces of) news in this moment, because I think we get a real commitment in the squad in terms of contracts in the medium term.
“It a key for us in our goal to get back to the Premier League.”

Leeds started this season in blistering form, surging to the top of the table with some impressive attacking intent. However, three consecutive defeats have seen them slip down to sixth place and they need to turn things around sooner rather than later.
Leeds definitely have the players at their disposal to achieve promotion this season. Yet their manager Thomas Christiansen needs to get his team selections right after some questions decisions in recent weeks.
Ayling’s presence is rarely questioned and the 26-year-old needs to replicate his best form and lead by example in the upcoming matches, starting with Saturday’s trip to Bristol City.
Leeds are still well in the mix and it will only take a few quick victories to bring the feel-good factor back to Elland Road.
