Fernandez impressed for Newcastle in their friendly against St. Patrick’s Athletic.

Newcastle United winger Victor Fernandez has posted on Twitter after making his first-team debut for The Toon against Irish side St. Patrick’s Athletic – and some Newcastle fans have made a prediction about the Spanish star.
The 20-year-old winger started the game alongside fellow youngsters Josef Yarney and Sean Longstaff, the latter opening the scoring with an excellent finish into the bottom corner from just inside the penalty area.
Newcastle doubled their lead in the second half, as Christian Atsu converted a penalty by sending the ball down the middle of the goal, rounding off the trip to Ireland with a comfortable win.
Fernandez posted on Twitter after making his debut, though a non-competitive one, as Newcastle began their pre-season campaign with a win before.
Fernandez will be hoping to feature for Rafa Benitez’s side in The Toon’s upcoming pre-season friendlies, beginning with Hull City on Tuesday as well as FC Porto and German side Augsburg.
Some Newcastle fans reacted to Fernandez’s Tweet, with a handful of those supporters predicting that the Spanish attacker could break his way into the first team next season.
