The goalkeeper has impressed for Sunderland this season.
Speaking to the Chronicle, Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe has backed Jordan Pickford to be England number one in future.
The young ‘keeper has found himself as the Black Cats number one this season after an injury to Vito Mannone.
He has more than impressed, putting in a series of impressive displays despite his side’s struggles at the beginning of this campaign.
His displays have not gone unnoticed, with Gareth Southgate calling him up to his England squad this week after injury saw Southampton’s Fraser Forster drop out.

Many are predicting the Three Lions jersey will be his in future and Anichebe is one of them.
“Jordan, you can all see for yourselves he is a top young goalkeeper,” he told the Chronicle.
“Some of the saves he makes and his distribution, it is incredible sometimes. He is a phenomenal keeper and if he can keep his feet on the ground, continue to work hard then he will one day become England’s No 1.”

The striker has however warned that the Black Cats could end up losing their star man if he continues to impress.
His performances are unlikely to have to gone unnoticed by the rest of the Premier League and indeed reports have already indicated teams are looking to sign him.
The Sun claims that Everton are keen on his signature while the Mirror has named Manchester City as suitors.
Anichebe, though, believes that huge clubs could end up chasing his signature in future.
“As much as Sunderland fans don’t want me to say this, some of the huge clubs might come in for him,” he added.
“But at the moment he is here at Sunderland and doing really well for us, and he kept us in the game at times against (AFC) Bournemouth (last Saturday). He was unbelievable.”
