Sunderland forward Victor Anichebe is set to miss the next three months’ worth of action.
Victor Ancihebe has expressed his disappointment after being ruled out with injury on social media website Instagram.
Anichebe is set to miss the next three months of the campaign, after sustaining a knee problem in his side’s match against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
The powerful forward came off the substitutes’ bench in the contest at the Hawthorns, and although he made it through the match, scans have revealed the the problem is serious.

Anichebe is thought to have done considerable damage to his knee, which could keep him out until April.
The 28-year-old has admitted he is devastated at the injury blow, as he was desperate to help Sunderland get out of trouble.
Anichebe has become a fans’ favourite at the Stadium of Light, as his performances have shown a great amount of commitment and desire.
The Nigerian has been in fine form, and his absence is further bad news for Sunderland at a time when they need to be positive.
The Black Cats are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, with Moyes’ side having a considerable amount of key players ruled out through injury.
