The midfielder has officially retired to join Manchester City as a coach.

Victor Anichebe has sent a message to former Everton teammate Mikel Arteta on Twitter after the latter completed a move to Manchester City.
The midfielder left Arsenal at the end of last season after his contract came to an end at the Emirates Stadium.
He confirmed that he was retiring on Sunday afternoon, writing a message to thank fans from former clubs such as Arsenal, Everton and Rangers, as well as Barcelona.

The Spaniard has now moved into the coaching side of the game, opting to join Pep Guardiola as he takes charge at Manchester City.
And his former teammate Anichebe has sent him a message on Twitter, wishing him the best of luck in the next chapter of his career.

Arteta will now be hoping he can enjoy a similar rise in the game as to the one Guardiola had at Barcelona.
He rose through the ranks at the Nou Camp before leading Barca to La Liga and Champions League success during a trophy filled four-year stint at the club.
Arteta now finds himself working under Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium and he will no doubt be keen to learn as much as he can in order to forge his own post-playing career.
