Paul Robinson has said on Amazon Prime Video (8:01pm, October 20, 2022) that he thinks that Leeds United star Rodrigo wants to play as a number nine.
The former Leeds goalkeeper believes that Rodrigo has been a victim of his versatility.
The £100,000-a-week (SalarySport) Spain international can operate as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder.
England international Patrick Bamford is the number one striker at Leeds.
Rodrigo plays in an advanced role in attacking midfield when Bamford starts as the striker for Leeds.
Paul Robinson on Leeds United ace Rodrigo
Robinson said about Rodrigo: “Speaking to him in the week, I interviewed him in the week, you get the feeling that he loves playing that number 9 role. He loves playing in a settled position rather than dropping deep.”

The pundit added: “He enjoys playing as a 9. He came to Leeds initially as a 9, and I think he has been unlucky because Patrick, when he is fit, he plays, and he has been a victim of being able to play in midfield in an advanced role.”
Important player
In our view, Rodrigo is a very important player for Leeds United and will need to be on top of his game for the West Yorkshire club to be successful this season.
The former Valencia star has scored 18 goals and created 14 big chances in 83 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Rodrigo has made eight starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season.
The Spanish attacker has scored four goals and given one assist in those games.
Leeds appear to be heading for a season in which they will be fighting for survival in the Premier League.
And for the Whites’ quest to be successful to retain their Premier League status for next season, we think that Rodrigo will have to be at his best throughout.
