Reed spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Fulham from Southampton and played an important role in the Cottagers clinching promotion to the Premier League.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old midfielder made 24 starts and four substitute appearances in the Championship for the Cottagers this past season, providing two assists in the process.
Khan has said that Reed wants to stay at Fulham, and has stated that the Cottagers have an option to make the loan deal permanent.
Khan told The Times about Reed: “I’m working on it. I have an option to buy and I think he does want to stay.”
Permanent Fulham move?
Reed is a very good midfielder who did well at Fulham in 2019-20, and it would make sense for him to stay at the Cottagers next season and beyond.
The 25-year-old has been on the books of the Saints his entire professional club football career, but the Englishman has made only handful of appearances for the first team.
A permanent move to Fulham would make sense for the Cottagers and for Reed.
