Sunderland are bottom of the Premier League, with pressure growing on manager David Moyes.
After Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Arsenal, Sunderland have now had the worst ever start to a Premier League season, recording just two points from their opening nine games.
The only wins for manager David Moyes have come in the EFL Cup, with the Scot still unable to taste league victory as a Black Cat.
Patience is wearing thin for the Sunderland fans, who see no sign of things improving under Moyes, as HITC Sport’s Michael Ramsay found out.

Many fans appear to have lost faith in their manager, describing him as “terrible, clueless, gutless, spineless”, but some believe the problems run deeper than just the manager.
Sunderland were recently linked with a takeover from Chinese investors, which was met with glee on Wearside, many seeing it as a chance to get Ellis Short away from the club and start afresh with new ownership.
Sunderland fans
One fan summed up the club’s problems: “A cancer if you like from top to bottom within the club. From the boardroom right down to the playing staff, the coaching, everything. Everything about the club is wrong.”
It’s a dark period for Sunderland, who have managed to somehow avoid relegation in recent seasons, but their situation looks even worse than it has done under previous managers, and something may have to be done for the Black Cats to complete another great escape.
