Sunderland sit bottom of the Premier League, with a lot of players failing to perform.

With Sunderland rock bottom of the Premier League with just two points to their name, completing the worst ever start to a Premier League season, there are a lot of players that fans on Wearside can point the finger at.

New signings have not performed, and more senior players who have done the business in the past are yet to show up this season. With so many failing footballers currently wearing red and white, HITC Sport’s Michael Ramsay found out who the fans think is currently the worst Sunderland player.

The most popular name was Jack Rodwell, who boasts an incredible win-less run when starting Premier League games for the Black Cats. The former Everton and Manchester City midfielder has started 33 games for Sunderland in the Premier League, yet has never been on the winning side.

Other names that came under scrutiny were Lamine Kone, who was heavily linked with an exit from the Stadium of Light over the summer. The Ivory Coast international was one of Sunderland’s heroes last season as they retained their Premier League status, but has looked a shadow of his former self since Moyes took charge.

With potentially just Jordan Pickford and Jermain Defoe being able to take some pride in their performances, there are a lot of players that need to raise their game if Sunderland are to get out of the mess there in.
