Newcastle United have had some great players over the years, and the fans have had their say on who they’d have back.
Despite not competing for honours in recent years, Newcastle United have been able to attract a range of top quality footballers to St James’ Park.
A lot of those players have now moved on, with players such as Moussa Sissoko believing they are bigger than the club, while other former Geordie gems have retired, with Newcastle legend Peter Beardsley now part of the coaching set up at the club.

Many fan favourites have departed St James’ Park in recent years, with Yohan Cabaye leaving for Paris Saint Germain, and now plying his trade under ex-boss Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace. Hatem Ben Arfa is another man that captured a lot of Geordie hearts with his incredible dribbling ability and sometimes unbelievable footwork.
Legends such as Rob Lee and David Ginola would always be welcomed back in a Newcastle shirt if we were to go back in time, but a lot of fans are happy with what manager Rafael Benitez has available to him now.

Players such as Andros Townsend are also not seen as a miss due to the impact his replacement Matt Ritchie has had since joining the club.
If given the opportunity, there is always one player you would have back at your club that was let go, and HITC Sport’s Michael Ramsay found out who the Newcastle fans would welcome back with open arms.
