Marcelo Bielsa has been speaking to the media ahead of the Premier League clash between Leeds and Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

Interestingly, the Argentine admitted that he’s starting to panic.

What’s the story?

Well, Bielsa told the media that he’s now “very worried” about Leeds.

As quoted by Leeds Live, the £154,000-a-week man said: “Very worried. The worry is proportionate to the results we have obtained. I am a normal person. I do a job that has a lot of repercussions. I feel like all the people who are not able to offer the results expected.”

It’s good to hear Bielsa actually admit his fears, as there’s no point beating around the bush and denying the fact Leeds are in trouble.

The Whites are without a win in five Premier League games, and only have three wins in their last 16 games across all competitions.

That is relegation form. As things stand, Leeds find themselves 15th in the Premier League, just three points above Burnley, who languish in 18th.

Worryingly, the Clarets have two games in hand over Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa mustn’t change Leeds

Due to the poor results, many people have called on Bielsa to change his expansive, attacking style.

However, if the 66-year-old did this, we feel it would see Leeds relegated.

Every club in the Premier League adopts a preferred approach, and it’s important to stick to your principles rather than flitter between different tactics.

Bielsa has drilled his philosophy into his squad, and they all know what he wants from them.

If the South American changed things now, it could take five – or more – games to let the new information take effect, time that Leeds don’t have to spare.

As bad as things seem right now, Leeds will get themselves out of this mess if they stick to their principles and believe in themselves.
