Jurgen Klinsmann told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, is ‘very, very special’.
The German legend hailed the work Klopp has done at Liverpool and how he is his fellow countryman’s ‘biggest fan’.
Klopp has won the Premier League title and the Champions League trophy since stepping foot onto Merseyside, and with it, becoming an Anfield legend.
Nonetheless, Klinsmann shared his thoughts on Klopp and his infectious character, which has charmed Liverpool supporters.
“Absolutely not and thankfully not,” said Klinsmann about now not being the famous Jurgen in England anymore. “I am the biggest Klopp fan you can imagine.
“He’s very. very special. What he has done with Liverpool is just unbelievable.
“He continues to do that for many years to come because he’s a very positive and special person. He’s straightforward with everyone.
“We come from the same neighbourhood in South Germany and he’s hard-working. Always has a joke. Ready for you. Never too serious. He really proved the point that even German’s can laugh about themselves. A great ambassador for Germany.”
This forthcoming season will be one of Klopp’s biggest tests after his side took a number of big hits during the recently concluded campaign.
But with Virgil van Dijk set to be back in defence, it will lift the whole club, who will want to win back their Premier League title.
And despite such struggles last season, it needs to be remembered that Klopp still managed to guide the club to a third-placed finish.
