Charlie Patino has been speaking to NepentheZ over a game of FIFA 22 on Facebook, where he spoke about some of his Arsenal teammates.
What’s the story?
Well, the 18-year-old sensation has worked his way into first-team training at London Colney, where he’s been left impressed by Martin Ødegaard.
Speaking to NepentheZ, Patino said: “Ødegaard is amazing in training. He’s really settled in now. He’s a player I really look up to, he’s helped me a lot. Ødegaard is very, very good.”
That comes as no surprise to us.
Real Madrid don’t just sign any 16-year-old and hand him £80,000-a-week.
Ødegaard is a special footballer, and we’re not quite sure how Mikel Arteta managed to sign him for just £30m, a steal in the modern era.
So far this season, the 23-year-old has scored four goals while also providing three assists in 18 Premier League appearances.
The Norway international is also among the nominees for the December Premier League Player of the Month award.
Arsenal should give Martin Ødegaard the armband

In our view, Arteta should choose Ødegaard to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as captain.
The Arsenal No.8 has already been called a “natural leader” by Arteta, which suggests the Spaniard could be considering him (Daily Mail).
Additionally, Ødegaard is the captain of Norway at just 23 years of age, which certainly shouldn’t be dismissed – that speaks volumes about his maturity.

Judging by Patino’s comments, he is already someone who puts his arm around teammates in training to help them as best he can.
Furthermore, Ødegaard appears to be a model professional, who takes care of himself and doesn’t do anything which may infuriate Arteta.
If we were in charge of the decision, we’d definitely select the Norwegian maestro as the heir to Aubameyang’s captaincy.
