Michael Owen agreed that Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have a player like Luis Diaz at Liverpool as he described him as ‘very unique’.
The previous campaign was a frustrating one for Luis Diaz because he was out of action for several months, with Owen stating that it was a ‘bitter blow’ to the team.
The former Liverpool striker described how Diaz’s character, attitude and energy make him standout on Merseyside, as he told Premier League Productions (13/08/23 at 6:50 pm).
Well, with the injury woes of last season behind him, the 26-year-old started the new Premier League season with a goal on Sunday.
The Reds recorded a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, with Mohamed Salah lauded by Glenn Hoddle for the part he played in his team opening the scoring.
Diaz was the beneficiary of that, with Owen sharing what he loves about the all-action forward.

“He came to Liverpool and immediately put that red shirt on and was just at home,” said Owen.
“The way he played. The way he settled in. It was just unbelievable, right from minute one, and it was such a bitter blow when he got injured.
“Liverpool have got an array of attacking options. He presses great, his energy is great, he scores goals, gets kicked and then gets back up. I love his attitude.
On if there is anybody like him in the Liverpool squad: “No, I think he is very unique – and he is coming someone like Nunez on the bench. I think he is a go-to man for Jurgen Klopp.”

Diaz can hit double figures in the Premier League
Last season, the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli hit double figures in the Premier League for Arsenal.
In Saka’s case, he hit double figures in goals and assists, which proves why he is one of the Premier League’s best.
But Diaz, if he can get a full campaign under his belt, will feel that he can do the same because he has the quality to do so.
