Leeds United defender has been charged over his post-match comments.
Leeds United centre-back Pontus Jansson has been charged by the FA after his post-match comments against Brentford, BBC Sport reported.
The Whites centre-back criticised the referee after the 1-1 draw in the interview on the pitch at Elland Road live on Sky, and called the result a robbery.
He has been ordered to explain his comments to the FA.
Speaking at a press conference in Sweden yesterday, Jansson was very unimpressed.
He blamed the television cameras for catching him at a moment when emotions were high, and admits that while it was not sensible, he was being honest.
Jansson does not feel it should have been made into an issue.
He told Aftonbladet: “You get a mic in the face after a match where there have been a lot of sequences and a lot of feelings … want them to have that availability and be close to us players after a match, they may make sure things happen sometimes. That’s my opinion.
“One should exemplify and be an example, but I do not like what I said was a big deal. There are a lot of feelings and I am a player who plays with a lot of emotions, then things can happen sometimes.”
Jansson is unlikely to receive a suspension but could be hit with a fine by the FA.
He will clearly not be amused if this is the case.
