Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend has said to Stadium Astro that Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is so underrated.
Liverpool have been linked with a new number nine, with Erling Haaland one of the names mentioned as a potential candidate to move to Anfield.
Sky have claimed that the Borussia Dortmund poacher would be keen on a move to Liverpool, if the opportunity presented itself.
However, Townsend feels that people seriously underrate Firmino.
And if Haaland was to move to Anfield he says that there would be no guarantees he would be a success.
“On paper it looks like Liverpool do need a Haaland on the stats sheet, they’re missing a goalscorer,” the 29-year-old, who has been capped 13 times by England, said.
“But I think Firmino goes very much under the radar, he’s very underrated.
“People tend not to see his work rate both offensively and defensively and how he brings others into play. That’s partly why Salah and Mane get the goals they do.

“On paper Haaland does look the obvious solution, but when you get them on the pitch it’s difficult as they need the cohesion.”
Firmino has come in for criticism this season as, despite his hard-work, he simply hasn’t scored enough goals.
The £29 million Brazilian (BBC Sport) is yet to even hit double figures for the campaign, despite being a regular starter for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Firmino’s place in Liverpool’s team now looks to be under serious threat, as Diogo Jota was on the scoresheet on Monday, as the Reds eased past Wolves.
