Southampton winger Josh Sims has joined Reading on a season-long loan

Southampton winger Josh Sims has joined Reading for the remainder of the season, and Saints fans appear divided on the move.
Sims is highly regarded by the south coast club and he is expected to be a big hit at The Madejski Stadium during his loan spell.
Southampton endured a poor campaign last season, and have only one point from two games early on this term. And a section of fans are questioning the decision to let the pacey winger leave. The 21-year-old is mostly remembered for his Premier League debut against Everton in 2016 – assisting Charlie Austin’s winner inside the first minute after a mazey run down the flank.

Such speed and guile saw him cut through the Liverpool defence in a Legue Cup semi-final in similar fashion, laying the ball off for Shane Long who put Southampton into the final.
However, Sims has gone on to register just 13 league appearances for Mark Hughes’ side since his explosive introduction, and his time at Reading will be pivotal to his development.
