Arsenal target Romeo Lavia has refused to be drawn on the potential of a move back to former club Manchester City.
The Southampton midfielder finds himself a wanted man ahead of the summer transfer window despite a difficult season for the Saints.
Lavia may well suffer relegation from the Premier League this season, but then earn a huge move straight towards the top of the table.
The Daily Mail claimed earlier this month that Manchester United and Arsenal both fancy signing Lavia this summer.
Chelsea are also keen and have held a meeting with Lavia’s representatives according to Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri.
The interest from the so-called ‘big six’ is mounting and whilst Arsenal may hope to win this race, Manchester City are lurking in the background.

Manchester City have Romeo Lavia buy-back clause
City sold Lavia to Southampton last year despite having high hopes for the Belgian.
Signed from Anderlecht in 2020, Lavia excelled in the City ranks and picked up two first-team appearances.
City still sold Lavia in a deal worth up to £14million but have a buy-back clause and a clause that allows them to match any bids.
City’s buy-back clause is allegedly worth £40million but can’t be activated until the summer of 2024.
That may give Arsenal a window of opportunity, but City can simply match any bid and leave it up to the player.
Lavia has now been asked about the situation having been called up to the Belgian senior squad for the first time.
Lavia has been quoted by the Daily Echo as saying that it’s ‘too early’ to talk about a potential return to City.
The midfielder – hailed as a ‘very special’ player by Jadon Sancho – is focusing solely on Southampton’s relegation battle and didn’t show any indication that he’s angling for a return to the Etihad Stadium.
“It’s still too early to talk about it,” said Lavia. “I remain focused on the rest of the season with Southampton even if collectively it is difficult. But I keep hope and I remain confident,” he added.
