Youri Tielemans remains Edu’s transfer priority at Arsenal and a decision will be made ‘very soon’.
That’s according to reliable journalist Dean Jones, who has revealed to Give Me Sport that although the Gunners are not definitely signing a midfielder before the summer window shuts, the Leicester City dynamo is their top target in this regard.
He told Give Me Sport: “I think Tielemans is still their [Arsenal’s] number one choice if they go down that route. It’s not totally clear yet if they will even sign a midfielder of that type, but that decision will be made very soon.”
You could argue that the North Londoners need a wide attacker more than somebody like Tielemans.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny, Sambi Lokonga, Granit Xhaka and Fabio Vieira as midfield options.

Honestly, is Tielemans even going to play regularly at the Emirates Stadium?
You could argue that the Foxes midfielder wouldn’t play all that often.
After all, Arsenal have won their first three Premier League encounters this season, for the first time since 2004.
Arteta’s side are absolutely flying and if they can be strenghtened, it’s out wide amid speculation that Nicolas Pepe is going to be leaving England.
Edu has helped Arsenal enjoy a brilliant summer transfer window and even if Tielemans – who wants the transfer to the capital – doesn’t materialise then, well, it’s still been an outstanding few months on the recruitment front.
