Alan Hutton has claimed that Dele Alli has ‘lost his way’ at Tottenham, after their defeat to Vitesse on Thursday evening, as he told Sky Sports News.
The Tottenham midfielder started the Europa Conference League game, but Hutton shared that he was ‘very, very quiet’ during the game.
Nuno Espirito Santo rung the changes out in Holland by leaving the starting XI that played against Newcastle in England.
In the end, that move backfired, as Spurs lacked any cutting edge and failed to really threaten Vitesse, especially in the first half.
That despite a number of senior players, such as Alli, Steven Bergwijn, Ben Davies and Harry Winks all starting.
Ex-Spurs right-back Hutton shared that Alli needs to go back to when he was ‘fantastic’, because he hardly did anything tonight.
“Very quiet,” said Hutton. “He was very, very quiet. I think he is a fantastic player. He has maybe lost his way a little bit.
“But he really needs to build on his previous years, to hit those heights because we know he can. But tonight, he was very quiet.”

There aren’t many players in the Premier League that have stagnated and now look a shadow of their old self than Alli.
Perhaps he needed to take Jose Mourinho’s pretty blunt criticism on board, which was aired during Tottennham’s All or Nothing documentary, where he questioned the player’s desire in training.
Not so long ago, Alli would have been worth what Jack Grealish was sold for this summer and a regular for England.
If it was possible, he wouldn’t even get minutes for England’s U21’s now, that’s how far he has fallen off the footballing cliff.
