Cesc Fabregas has praised Arsenal and Tottenham transfer target Axel Disasi after he reached the World Cup final with France on Wednesday night.
The former Arsenal midfielder posted on his Instagram story that he is ‘very proud’ of Disasi, alongside Aurélien Tchouaméni and Youssouf Fofana – all three played with Fabregas at Monaco, Tchouaméni has since moved on to Real Madrid.
Whilst Disasi was an unused substitute as France survived the scare against the history-makers of Morocco, both Fofana and Tchouaméni started the game and helped book that final ticket against Lionel Messi-inspired, Argentina.

This is the first time since 1998 and 2002 (Brazi) that a nation has reached back-to-back World Cup finals, and if the European side are to secure glory again, then it will be the first time in 60 years that a country has won back-to-back World Cups.
Surprise, surprise, a certain Pele donning the famous colours of Brazil was playing back then, that’s how historic and monumental this possible win could be for France.
Nonetheless, this was the message Fabregas posted on his IG story: “Very proud of these three young players. World Cup finalists @aurelientchm, @youss_fofana and @axel_disasi, added with clapping emojis.

DISASI PREMIER LEAGUE BOUND?
A number of Premier League clubs, mainly in London, are showcasing their interest in the 24-year-old, who has started one game and made one sub appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
David Moyes’ West Ham are one of those sides, alongside Tottenham, whilst high-flying Arsenal have been long-admirers of the player – his current deal runs out in 2025.
Of course, in terms of game time, Disasi would prove to be a top prospect and squad signing for Arsenal, but he wouldn’t get into their XI.
But Tottenham are in need of centre-backs, plus they play three at the back, whilst the Hammers have made a very poor start to the campaign and their new signing – Nayef Aguerd – can’t seem to shake off injuries, including being a late exclusion against France yesterday, despite being named in the XI for Morocco.
