Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Liam Cooper commented on the 2-1 defeat to Everton, and they’re not happy.

The 29-year-old spoke to the media after full-time to say that, if Leeds are to lose, then last night’s performance was the way to do it.

Cooper was simply trying to say that Leeds played well despite losing, but some supporters seem to have been upset by his mentality in this instance.

In our view, there’s nothing wrong with what he said.

WhoScored shows that Marcelo Bielsa’s side had 16 shots against the Toffees, with seven of those hitting the target.

Leeds also hit the post thanks to a thumping strike from Ezgjan Alioski, and hit the woodwork again following an effort from Patrick Bamford.

To further emphasise their dominance despite defeat, Leeds had 63.2% possession against Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

It should also be mentioned that Leeds earned seven corners, whereas Everton had just one.

Of course, all of this is largely meaningless as the Toffees secured the three points.

However, it was far from a bad display, and Bielsa will surely still take plenty of positives from the game.

Having said that, a few Leeds fans can’t seem to see the logic in Cooper’s comments, and have lashed out at the club captain.

Let’s see what they’ve been saying…
