Well, Celtic have finally hired a long-term replacement for Neil Lennon.
Lennon resigned from his role as Hoops boss as long ago as February and before today there was no successor.
But Celtic have now announced that former Australia boss Ange Postecoglou will take over from the Irishman.
There’s been a bit of negative talk about the Bhoys hiring the 55-year-old in light of the fact that he doesn’t hold a UEFA Pro License, especially after Eddie Howe to Parkhead seemed like a formality for a number of months.
Chris Sutton reacted on Twitter to Celtic’s new appointment but suggested that he could struggle at Paradise.
And here’s how some fans of the Glasgow club responded to their former striker on Twitter:
Crossed wires?
Sutton, writing in The Record last weekend, defended the imminent appointment of Postecoglou.
And therefore it’s unlikely that he is criticising the new man here, rather suggesting – in a confusing way, admittedly – that success is unlikely because of the circumstanes.
Let’s face it, this is a huge summer for Celtic and one that could result in the loss of more key players, like Odsonne Edouard.
With Scott Brown having left the club, along with chief executive Peter Lawwell, there are big boots to fill on and off the field.
And Sutton is right if he’s suggesting that the instability would hinder any manager who they hired.
