It was a pretty mixed day for Rangers on Saturday.
On the one hand, Steven Gerrard’s side won 2-0 at Hamilton to move nine points clear of Celtic – who have played three games less – in the Scottish Premiership table.
On the other, a popular player was offloaded by Rangers’ Director of Football Ross Wilson.
Before kickoff, it was confirmed that the Gers had sold Jamie Murphy to Hibernian.
The Rangers-daft winger has barely kicked a ball for the Ibrox outfit over the past two years, suffering a season-ending injury in August of 2018 and then being loaned out during the second half of last term.
But the 31-year-old scored seven goals in 10 League One starts for Burton Albion, prompting some fans of the Glasgow club to demand that he be given a chance by Gerrard this season.
However, there’s no chance of that now and suffice to say that some supporters really aren’t happy about his sale, or the decision to strengthen Hibs.
Here’s how Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter:
You can understand their frustration, because if Murphy stays fit then it just can’t benefit the light Blues. He will score and set up quite a lot of goals – probably more than Brandon Barker – and it’s easy to see this one backfiring in a big way.
