Tottenham Hotspur loanee Oliver Skipp impressed again for Norwich City on Saturday.
The Canaries took a big step toward Premier League promotion with a 1-0 victory away to Derby County.
Skipp, who joined City on loan from Tottenham last summer, has been a revelation for the Championship leaders, who could guarantee their promotion back to the top flight next year if they beat Bournemouth at Carrow Road in six days.
The 20-year-old has been arguably Norwich’s Player of the Year – if not the Championship’s in general – and one team-mate reserved huge praise for him on Saturday.
Kenny McLean has been training and playing with midfield partner Skipp all season, and the 29-year-old Scotland international told Sky Sports yesterday that the Spurs prospect has a ‘huge career in front of him’.
He said: “He makes my job a hell of a lot easier, I’ll tell you that. He’s been outstanding all season and we’re lucky to have him to be honest. For this level he’s very outstanding and he’s got a huge career ahead of him.”
Tottenham fans won’t be surprised to hear McLean say that Skipp has a glittering career ahead of him.
Remember, this is a player who has 15 Premier League appearances under his belt, most of which came during Mauricio Pochettino’s time at the club.
He has been the Lilywhites’ worst kept secret for a number of years and it’ll be fascinating to see whether he has a part to play in Jose Mourinho’s senior squad next season.
