Rafael van der Vaart has said that Liverpool and England international midfielder Jordan Henderson is “a very normal player”, as quoted in VI.NL.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder does not think that Liverpool star Henderson is as good as he is often made out to be.
The Dutchman has added that James Milner and Joe Gomez are also average players.
Van der Vaart made the comments about Liverpool trio Henderson, Milner and Gomez ahead of the UEFA Champions League game between the Reds and Ajax at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

Van der Vaart said: “I think we have become a bit blinded. We suddenly think Jordan Henderson is a crazy player.
“That’s just a very normal player. James Milner is also a very normal player. Joe Gomez is also a very normal player.”

Yes, the £20 million Englishman (The Guadian) may not be at the level of world-class midfield operators just such as Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Even Thiago Alcantara is better than Henderson when he is fit and in form.
However, Henderson is not an average player.

The Englishman is one of the better midfielders in the Premier League and has been mainstay of the Liverpool team for years.
Henderson has played a big role in Jurgen Klopp’s side winning the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in recent years.
