West Brom midfielder Sam Field is making a real impact in the Championship with QPR boss Mark Warburton already eyeing a permanent deal for the in-form loanee, speaking to West London Sport.
Whoever said there’s no value to be found in the January market?
Queens Park Rangers snapped up Charlie Austin, Stefan Johansen, Jordy de Wijs and Field in the winter window and the on-loan quartet have wasted no time proving their worth at Loftus Road.
And while Field has been overshadowed somewhat by West Brom-owned Austin, his impact at Loftus Road shouldn’t be underestimated.
If Warburton has his way, the Stourbridge-born 22-year-old will be signing on the dotted line if the Baggies are willing to discuss a permanent deal.
“I would be very keen and I know he is really enjoying his football here,” said the former Rangers, Brentford and Nottingham Forest boss.

“He has settled very well into the squad. He can play at centre-half in a two or a three and, as he has shown, in midfield.
“He’s 6ft 2in and has that physicality you need, so he ticks a lot of boxes for us.
“I have been delighted with his contribution. I know he is enjoying his football and being around the squad. They have embraced him as a personality so so far, so good.”
Warburton may be in luck.
Speaking to QPR’s website after completing his winter switch to Loftus Road, Field admitted he would be open to staying at the west London club for the long haul.
And, after ten impressive appearances, Field has done his hopes of a summer switch no harm at all.
