Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, journalist Ian McGarry has claimed that Patrick Vieira has spoken to Thierry Henry about a potential role at Crystal Palace.
Vieira of course knows Henry very well from their playing days together at Arsenal, and with the Frenchman expected to leave his role with Belgium, he’ll be out of work.
What’s been said?
McGarry claims that Vieira has spoken with Henry about a role and he says the former Arsenal man would be tempted by a position at Selhurst Park.
“One very intriguing story is that since Patrick Vieira joined Crystal Palace he has approached let’s say and had a casual conversation with Thierry Henry, who is expected to leave the Belgium backroom staff, having gone in there just as a temporary measure during the Euros with Roberto Maritinez, and he could be asked to take up a role at Selhurst Park,” McGarry said.
“Henry has been a head coach in his own right both in France and in MLS, but the idea of a link up with Vieira in the Premier League is something we believe he would be tempted by.”

What a pairing
Crystal Palace having Vieira and Henry at the helm would be brilliant.
Just imagine if you’re someone like Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise or any young player coming through and you’re learning from those two.
Yes, there may be better coaches out there, but for our money, there aren’t two ex-players who could combine to make a coaching team more respected, especially in London.
This could be a stroke of genius from Vieira if he can convince his old teammate to join him at Palace.
