Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told Bild that Jadon Sancho would look good in a Reds shirt.
Klopp has described the Borussia Dortmund winger as “a very interesting player”.
However, the former Dortmund manager does not anticipate the former Manchester City prospect moving to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mail reported this month that Liverpool are among the clubs looking at the 20-year-old winger, who is valued at £100 million by his side Dortmund.
Klopp told Bild about potentially signing Sancho, as translated by Goal.com: “A red jersey would look very good on Jadon. But I don’t think such a transfer will take place this summer.
“He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all!”
Stats
According to WhoScored, Sancho has scored 17 goals and provided 16 assists in the Bundesliga, and has scored two goals and provided two assists in the Champions League for Dortmund this season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the 20-year-old scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists in the league, and scored one goal and provided one assist in the Champions League, according to WhoScored.
Unlikely Liverpool transfer this summer?
Sancho is a very good and talented young winger who has progressed brilliantly at Dortmund, and there is no doubt that he would be a great signing for Liverpool this summer.
However, with Klopp admitting that he cannot see Sancho at Anfield this summer, it does appear unlikely that the former City prospect will make the switch to the Reds.
