Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after they were credited with an interest in Djed Spence.

What’s the story with Spence?

Spence has been making plenty of headlines over the past few weeks.

The right-back put in an unbelievable performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup, and as is often the case, that showing has put Spence on a number of Premier League clubs’ radar.

Leeds and Arsenal have been linked with a move for the right-back, and now Tottenham are in the market for the 21-year-old.

Spurs have actually been linked with Spence in the past, but it sounds as though they could now make their move for the defender.

Potential

Spence is certainly a player with potential, and under Antonio Conte he could become a star.

As the full-back showed against Arsenal, he’s capable of performing against the very best teams in England, and he just needs to figure out how to do that on a regular basis.

Conte knows how to develop a player like this – just look at what he’s done with wing-backs in the past, and if Spence comes in, it may not be long until he’s being spoken about amongst the best full-backs in the Premier League.
