Fabrizio Romano has written in his email newsletter (7:36am, October 3, 2022) that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is very happy with Ibrahima Konate.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that the Liverpool chiefs are also happy with Konate as well as his teammate Luis Diaz.
Konate joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners paid Leipzig £36 million in transfer fees (The Athletic) for the youngster.
Konate has had injury problems in recent times and has also had to face competition for a place in the Liverpool starting lineup.
The 23-year-old France international centre-back has been able to make only 11 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Jurgen Klopp rates Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate highly
Romano wrote: “There’s no escaping it, this has been a poor start to the season from Liverpool as they dropped more points this weekend with a 3-3 draw at home to Brighton.

“Still, this is a club with a method of doing things, and I don’t expect any knee-jerk reactions from Jurgen Klopp.
“They’re very happy with recent signings like Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate, and their plan keeps going for the present and future.
“I’m told the priority will be a top midfielder, then at the end of the season we will see how they will decide to proceed. Don’t write Liverpool off yet – I think this team is still very good and able to get into the top four.”
Bright future
In our view, Ibrahima Konate has a bright future at Liverpool and could develop into a superb defender in the coming years.
After all, he is only 23.
The Frenchman needs to stay fit and get a good run in the team.
Konate did well during his time at Leipzig, and we do expect the youngster to star for Liverpool.
Eventually.
