Speculation is mounting that Newcastle United are set to offer Miguel Almiron a new contract.
According to The Telegraph, as covered by HITC Sport, the Paraguay international’s stunning form could be about to be rewarded by Dan Ashworth in the form of an extension at St James’s Park.
Almiron has scored six goals in 12 Premier League outings this season and they’ve all come in recent weeks.
And former Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique is ‘very happy’ about this development, as he wrote on Twitter:

Almiron sort of symbolises the transformation that Eddie Howe has masterminded on Tyneside.
Prior to this season, the South American attacker had only managed nine goals in 110 Premier League appearances.
That ought to illustrate that he was by no means one of Newcastle’s most influential players for years when it comes to stacking up the numbers.
But the former Bournemouth manager is clearly getting a much sweeter tune out of the player and, from their perspective, long may it last.
Howe’s side are fourth in the Premier League standings and have only lost once this season.
And even that was a 95th-minute winner for Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho back in August.
Since then, Newcastle have reminded everyone that they mean business this season and although it’s too early to set their aspirations, a top-four finish certainly isn’t out of the question if Almiron continues playing like this.
