Leeds United star Rodrigo has taken to Instagram to express his delight at helping Spain qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals.
What’s the story?
Rodrigo was in action for Spain against Sweden in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers last night.
Spain won 1-0.
Alvaro Morata scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute.
The win saw the former European and world champions qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.
Rodrigo, who can play as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder, came on as a substitute on the hour mark.

Rodrigo delighted
Leeds star Rodrigo is over the moon to have qualified for the World Cup finals next year.
The 30-year-old has made the following post on Instagram.
It reads: “Qatar 2022 here we come !!! Very happy to be part of this team. Thanks to Sevilla and to all of you who have supported us from home !!”
Rodrigo to 2022 World Cup?
Rodrigo – who earns £57,692 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – is not a player who is going to start regularly for Spain.
However, Spain head coach Luis Enrique including the attacker in his squad for the international matches in November shows that he rates him.
If Rodrigo continues to play well, then there is a very good chance that he will be part of the Spain squad for the World Cup finals next year.
