‘Very good team’: Leeds fans will love Instagram message from Guardiola player

Benjamin Mendy has labelled Leeds United as a ‘very good team’ on Instagram following their pulsating draw over the weekend.

The Manchester City left-back started the match against his former Marseille manager, Marcelo Bielsa, and found life difficult on the left-hand side.

Mendy was on a yellow card when Pep Guardiola decided to substitute him for centre-back Nathan Ake during the second period, which perhaps indicates the type of game he had.

Underneath the comments section of his Instagram message, Mendy acknowledged that being on a yellow made it ‘harder and harder’ for him during the game, as Leeds fans will love his honesty and praise towards them.

It’s been 16 years since Leeds tasted top-flight football and it’s fair to say that upon their return, they are making themselves heard.

Results aside, it’s the manner in which they are playing which is impressive and they are proving to be a formidable outfit to deal with.

Mendy worked with Bielsa in France, so he is well aware of his crazy, eagle-eyed and gung-ho style which provides a lot of opposition teams sleepless nights.
