Scott Parker has been speaking to the media following Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, and he’s praised one of Roy Hodgson’s players.
When asked about Wilfried Zaha’s display, Football London quote the Cottagers boss as saying: ‘He’s a world class player that you see most weeks causes a lot of teams and players problems, that’s the quality he has.
‘That’s what you’re going to face up against a very good player.’
You simply can’t argue with Parker’s assessment of the Ivory Coast international based on the statistics from his display at Craven Cottage.
Zaha was mesmeric in Palace’s victory, assisting Jairo Riedewald’s opener with a lovely reverse pass before sealing the three points with a goal of his own.
Aside from that, SofaScore show that the former Manchester United man completed six successful dribbles, and made four key passes in what was a scintillating individual display.
Zaha also won eight of his attempted 15 duels on the ground, and won two free-kicks from a Cottagers backline who didn’t know how to deal with him.
Palace’s No.11 also found the net once more, but was denied by the offside flag.
The 27-year-old did, however, lose possession on 16 occasions.
However, that is simply part and parcel of his game, in which his tendency to dribble and put the ball at risk sees him lose it every now and again.
Zaha now has five goals in six Premier League appearances this season, level with Tottenham talisman Harry Kane and Leicester hitman Jamie Vardy.
