Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told Sky Sports that ‘top teams’ would want to sign Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon.
The former striker’s comments come after an angry exchange between Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp about Tottenham’s seemingly ‘very average’ squad.
It all heated up in the Sky studios before Tottenham could put four past Burnley at the weekend and boost their top-four chances under Jose Mourinho.
Whilst Tottenham’s defence has been questioned in several areas this season and on several occasions, ex-Chelsea hitman, Hasselbaink, thinks they have a ‘very good player’ at left-back.
“No, Reguilon is a very good player,” said Hasselbaink. “I think the top teams would take him.
“Real Madrid let him go because they needed to free up money and they have Mendy. And they have a buy-back option.
“Tottenham is underachieving, big time, with what they have.”
When Gareth Bale re-joined Spurs in the summer, there was a lot of talk surrounding his return.
And whilst the limelight was shining on the left-footer, there was another left-footed speedster who was going under the radar.
Reguilon was perhaps the better capture when considering. his age, 24, and the fact that he had just enjoyed great success at Sevilla.
