Jose Mourinho has praised reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Dean Henderson on Sky Sports, after their game with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Sun say that Henderson is very much on Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of the summer.

And it seems that Spurs’ desire to sign him may only have been heightened up Henderson’s performance against them at the weekend.

The English stopper was in commanding form, as United picked up a 3-1 win over Tottenham.

And Mourinho reserved special praise for the goalkeeper after the contest.

“We played against a good team. A team that reacted,” Mourinho said. “Lot of quality, lot of power. Very strong players in midfield, not just tactically but fundamentally physically.

“They score, we had a good reaction, we had great occasions to score the next goal. I believe that even in the position I was, Dean made a couple of very good saves, especially one from Harry Kane.”

Unfortunately for Spurs, any deal to land Henderson looks very unlikely at this stage.

The 24-year-old has stepped into United’s team of late and looked at home, leading to suggestions that he could take David de Gea’s number one spot.

If that is to be the case, United will surely have no intention of selling Henderson in the summer.

And that could force Tottenham to look elsewhere, despite Mourinho’s now public admiration for the goalkeeper.
