Kieran Trippier has lauded PIF’s rumoured manager target for Newcastle United and claimed that he is a ‘very good manager’, as he told his press conference.

The Atletico Madrid right-back spoke about the ‘brave’ manner in which Brighton played during their 2-2 draw at Liverpool last time out.

Whilst it is a pipe dream for Newcastle United supporters, Potter is on a wishlist of their new Saudi-led ownership to possibly have the thriving Englishman as their new coach.

Both Brighton and Newcastle will lock horns at the weekend, and the Toon Army faithful will get a glimpse of what could be if they ever manage to secure his talents – although, very unlikely.

Watching on from afar in Spain, Trippier praised Brighton’s style of play and the man in their dugout.

“Brighton went their (Liverpool) and they were brave,” said Trippier. “They have a very good team.

“They have a very good manager, who play good football.”

An Englishman in Steve Bruce was kicked out of the door two weeks ago and now his fellow countryman might replace him in the dugout.

At first, many thought it was going to be Unai Emery, but the Spanish coach, who is the manager of Villarreal, turned down their advances, as he posted on Twitter.

Given the situation the likes of Amanda Staveley find themselves in, it now seems as though Eddie Howe could be the man to lead them forward.

Just like Potter, he too has punched above his managerial weight and he does play the attractive style that suits this Newcastle side.
