Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after watching footage posted by Arsenal, involving Aaron Ramsdale and David Seaman.

What’s the story?

Well, a few months ago, Arsenal announced an initiative to help local businesses around north London.

Thousands of small businesses have struggled – or even disappeared – as a result of COVID-19 and the financial impacts of the global pandemic.

In an attempt to help, Arsenal arranged for their players to star in adverts to promote these businesses, and help them get back on their feet.

In the latest edition of these adverts, we see Ramsdale and Seaman help promote the Chip Inn Fish Bar, located at 193 Holloway Road, N7.

You can see the advert starring the £30m man below, as well as Lineker’s thoughts on the footage.

In our view, that’s brilliant. Arsenal didn’t have to film the advert at all, so for them to engage in such a creative effort deserves lots of praise.

Other clubs must follow Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale

Businesses all over the planet have been affected by COVID-19, not just those in north London.

As a result, it’s quite sad to see that others aren’t following Arsenal’s lead.

Premier League footballers can have a huge impact on society, as we saw when Marcus Rashford forced Boris Johnson into a U-turn over free school meals.

Therefore, we feel it would be good to see the likes of Chelsea, Leicester, Everton and Southampton follow Arsenal in helping to promote local businesses.

It isn’t a huge ask, but it could have a transformative impact on the owners of these businesses and their families.
