Cenk Tosun has tipped fellow Turkish international Ugurcan Cakir to make a move to the Premier League this summer, with Everton reportedly interested in the Trabzonspor goalkeeper, while speaking to BeIN Sports.

Trabzonspor fans should make the most of the 24-year-old shot-stopper while they can.

Because, alongside Crystal Palace loanee Alexander Sorloth, Cakir has been nothing short of a revelation this season with his virtuoso displays putting the perennial underachievers on the verge of their first Super Lig title since 1984.

Such outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed however and the chances of Cakir moving away from his homeland at the end of the season are growing by the week.

Fanatik reported last week that Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring the £45 million-rated shot-stopper to Goodison Park over the summer, with Everton’s current number one Jordan Pickford hardly covering himself in glory in recent months.

While it remains to be seen if Tosun will be handed a second chance at Everton by Ancelotti, one Turkey international could be working alongside another on the blue half of Merseyside.

“Who can go to the Premier League from Turkey?” mused a man who saw a loan spell at Crystal Palace cut short due to injury. “Turkey has very good footballers.

“I can say Ugurcan Çakır, he comes to mind.”

As it stands, however, Everton’s bitter rivals Liverpool appear to be in pole position for Cakir’s sought-after signature.

Former Trabzonspor coach Sadi Tekelioglu told Takvim that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds had already agreed a deal to bring the 24-year-old to Anfield.
