Didier Deschamps hailed the technique of reported Everton target Adrien Rabiot after France’s 2-1 UEFA Nations League victory over Croatia this week, speaking to RMC Sport.
After a couple of difficult years for one of the most naturally talented midfielders of his generation, Rabiot appears to be on the right track again.
The former PSG dynamo has started both of Juventus’s Serie A games under Andrea Pirlo so far and, on Tuesday night, produced perhaps his finest performance for the French national team during a hard-fought triumph over old foes Croatia.
Rabiot has had his work cut out winning Deschamps round after throwing a rather public strop and refusing to sit on the stand-by list for the victorious 2018 World Cup campaign.
But more performances like this – full of energy, precision and dynamism – and Rabiot will soon be one of the first names on the team sheet for club and country.

“Adrien is one of the players who improved as he went on. He confirmed everything he does well. He has a technical ease,” says World Cup-winning coach Deschamps.
“He is playing at a very good level.”
Calciomercato reported this week that Rabiot’s future at Juventus is still uncertain after an unconvincing year in Turin, with Everton interested in a player Carlo Ancelotti handed a debut to eight years ago.
Rabiot, who looks a perfect fit for one of those box-to-box number eight roles alongside Allan, earns £120,000 a week and would set the Toffees back £25 million (TMW).
