Aaron Ramsey has told Sky Sports that he will be a Juventus player next season amid rumours that Liverpool are keen on his services.

The 30-year-old admitted that his time in Turin has been ‘very frustrating’ but he will still be donning the famous Black and White colours next season.

Italian outlet Tutto Juve have previously claimed that Liverpool are keen to bring the Welshman to Merseyside this summer, in order to bolster their squad, with the box-to-box midfielder seemingly available for as little as £10.3 million.

But even though injuries have frustrated Ramsey and hampered his game time at Juve, he’s not going anywhere.

“It’s obviously been a very frustrating period for me over the last couple of years,” said Ramsey. “I have picked up a few niggling injuries, which have been frustrating. And not being able to get any consistency going.

“So, yes it’s been frustrating. When you arrive at a new club, you want to hit the ground running and show everyone what you are capable of doing.

“That’s always going to be difficult when you have these little injuries that set you back – and to chuck in COVID as well, which hasn’t helped.

On whether he will be returning to Turin next season: “I am a Juventus player, yes.”

Liverpool need to bulk up their midfield this summer, with Gini Wijnaldum leaving on a free transfer this month, and certain individuals not delivering the goods either through lack of form or injuries.

But given Ramsey’s age, potential high wage and injury record then it wouldn’t make sense pushing towards his signature even though he’s the type of number eight Jurgen Klopp needs.

The Reds have enough injury-prone midfielders on their books already, from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Naby Keita.

But if Klopp is unable to find that midfielder to fill Wijnaldum’s void then there’s no reason why he shouldn’t look towards rising academy star, Curtis Jones instead.
